Weekly Event
Residents enjoyed a self-defense workshop last week Thursday.
Participants were able to learn a variety of self-defense techniques
such as Shaolin Kung Fu, Taekwondo & Tai Chi. The event began with a
progressive 10 minute group warm-up in which participants assisted the
instructor by leading stretches and jumping jacks. Once the participants
were fully warmed up, the instructor restated the purpose for the class
and began teaching the self defense lesson. Altogether, attendees
learned punching, blocking, body positioning, ground defense &
safety information.

Spring 2013 semester!
Today was a great day of celebration. As our nation sworn in
our president, and multitudes celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, here at
the Residence Hall @ Brooklyn College we celebrated our first move-in day for
the Spring 2013 semester! We have over 20 new students that moved in
today and are preparing for a lot more! It’s safe to say that we will have a
full house this semester. Although most of the hard work has already been done,
RHBC staff continues to work around the clock to ensure a fun and safe
experience for residents.

Spring 2013
The Residence Hall has been working diligently to prepare
suites for incoming residents for the Spring 2013 semester. Maintenance workers
have been steadily cleaning rooms, painting walls, planning activities for new
residents. We are anticipating an influx or new & returning residents
starting on January 21st, 2013. As mentioned in our previous blogs,
we house a diverse population. The Spring 2013 semester will be no different,
as we will be having an array of international students from Europe, Asia and
other parts of the United States.
